Paul Campbell
For over twenty-five years I developed brands through strategic marketing and communications (at Artisan Entertainment, Starz and Syfy) and lead campaigns for hundreds of iconic films and television programs with a focus around positioning programming to create excitement, urgency and impact. I love working with teams and brands to craft and deploy messaging and with individuals to find their voice. With our extended team of publicists and performers, I program group sessions around a topic or theme to help companies deploy announcements, manage change, and/or help define and deepen a culture of collaboration. In one-on-one media trainings, I help speakers develop talking points, identify opportunities, and overcome obstacles to deliver exceptional interviews and presentations with a sense of clarity and confidence.

Most of my career has been spent building marketing and PR campaigns for movies, magazines, sites, and software and through that work I have prepared countless - and not always easy! - actors, directors, producers, executives, and editors for their public appearances. But prior to my career in media, I was trained as an actor and practiced at Upright Citizens Brigade, appeared in national tours, a one woman show, and Saturday Night Live. Despite having truly exceptional bosses, it took many years to bridge those worlds. I came to understand that my unconventional approach to work would be the secret to my happiness and success and I love helping others do their best work simply by being themselves.

A lawyer and theatre artist residing in Richmond, Virginia, I began my career as an associate at Baker & McKenzie in NYC and have worked as a staff attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit for nearly 30 years. My love for improvisation began when I joined my first improv troupe, Erasable, Inc. at the University of Maryland and I’ve continued to work as an actor, director, writer, and producer in the years following. In addition to teaching and performing, I’ve developed several programs that incorporate the tenets of improv that directly correlate to success in a wide variety of professions and established Acting for Attorneys, coaching lawyers to speak in front of a jury. Believe me, if they can do it, so can you!
